The Artist

16107242_10154766638009333_2518769743238791165_o   Hello! I’m Joy, a sometimes artist, badass bookseller, former model and master of all things medieval history. This is meant to be an art blog, but knowing myself, tangents are likely to occur… honesty is the best policy, right?

As is probably clear from my work, I’m a great lover of the Pre-Raphaelites and Alphonse Mucha, with most of my inspiration coming from myths, legends and fairy tales.

I occasionally dabble with paints but my first love is trusty pen and ink.  I also if I have the patience to faff around with it (read: spend the next few weeks trying to get gold dust out my hair) work with gold leaf. That said, I branch out into doing wall murals, A-board designs, and commercial window displays every so often. Chances are if you’ve been around the west-end of Glasgow during December you might have seen some of my work in Waterstones.

I also have an Instagram you can follow https://www.instagram.com/wee_red_vixen/
